should I buy a new Hoover vacuum cleaner
I have been using a hoover vacuum cleaner in my house for a few years now and now the motor has failed and i need to buy a new one. I looked into the cost of these motors and they are expensive, almost half of what i paid for the vacuum cleaner itself! Is it worth purchasing a new motor or should i just buy a whole new unit? Huh

RE: should I buy a new Hoover vacuum cleaner
In my opinion, I think you'd be better off buying a new Hoover vacuum cleaner. Residential Hoovers are pretty cheap compared to other vacuums on the market. If you buy a new motor, later down the road something else may go wrong with your Hoover and you might end up paying more in the long run. We have many different models to choose from on our website, below I have provided a link.

RE: should I buy a new Hoover vacuum cleaner
There are many models of Hoover vacuum cleaners sold on the market ranging from under $50 up to $600. If you have a higher priced Hoover vacuum cleaner then the cost of repair would definatly outweigh the cost of buying new. The motor is the heart of the vacuum cleaner and is the most expensive component to replace. Things to check before you dump money into your old unit are:

1) Brush strips on the brush roller (are they worn down)
2) Does the brush roller turn smoothly (Brush bearings in good wear)
Old vacuum cleaners can aquire buildup of foods and pet hair and start to smell (A new vacuum smells good out of the box)
3) Does the on/off switch function correctly
4) Is your vacuum cord in good shape

These 4 items can nickel and dime you to death down the road, so make sure these areas are in good shape.

If you end up looking for a new vacuum cleaner down the road I would take a look at this one:

Hoover Tempo Widepath (Great, reliable vacuum for the money. It has great reviews and is well priced):
